Co-operate Swindon, a free event celebrating Co-operatives Fortnight, will share success stories and offer advice.
Organised by Co-operative Futures and Midcounties Co-op, the event, from 10am-12.30pm on 28 June, offers advice on how community and co-op business works.
This event will also provide an opportunity to discuss ways to further promote co-operation in the Swindon area.
Richard Daws, co-founder of Komedia comedy venues, will tell the story of the conversion of Komedia Bath into a successful community-owned social business, with lots of celebrity supporters.
Midcounties is offering £500 to each of two social enterprises or any other business inspired by the event to pursue the co-op model. This is accompanied by up to two days of consultancy time for each organisation, courtesy of Co-operative Futures, a specialist business support organisation focused on co-ops, community-owned businesses and social enterprises.
