A marketing firm is offering free services to credit unions in the UK to help out any press releases, community management and social media postings related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
With the government categorising credit unions as essential businesses during lockdown, the sector continues to serve members while adopting social distancing measures.
Zync Digital, which provide digital marketing services for credit unions and social enterprises, is offering support credit unions as they respond to the crisis and share their messages using digital channels.
“As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, we have decided to offer our services, free of charge, to credit unions that would benefit as a result of more frequent communication with their members online,” said managing director Anthony Bennett. “That can include press releases, social media content creation or community management and responding to queries online. It’s our way of giving back to a sector that’s already provided us with so many opportunities.
“By their nature credit unions are more trusted and can differentiate themselves through digital marketing.”
Before setting up his own company, Mr Bennett spent three years at Enterprise Credit Union in Liverpool. He went on to work for various PR and marketing firms before setting up Zync to work directly with credit unions.
In March he delivered a marketing workshop at the Association of British Credit Unions conference, where he looked at how credit unions could best use social media to engage with members and attract new ones.
“An active responsive social media and digital marketing can help the sector respond to people’s concerns,” he added.
