We’ve made a few changes …
As well as a new website – which will be launching over the next few weeks – our printed magazine has moved from fortnightly to monthly and we have fully adopted the COOP marque into our logo.
Created by co-ops for co-ops, the Co-op News mission is to connect, champion and challenge the global movement for a stronger co-operative economy. That’s not going to change.
All content is created for (and by) co-operative professionals, members and supporters. Over the next year, we will be tackling the big issues that affect co-operatives, such as governance, membership and equality. Plus looking outside the movement for inspiration to further the co-op model.
Our new logo …
There was no debate when the decision was made to fully adopt the COOP marque. It represents everything about co-ops. Launched by the International Co-operative Alliance in 2013, it is the global identity that unites and shows co-ops are a force.
Throughout the world and across different business sectors and cultures, people agreed that the word ‘coop’ is unique to our business model, it expresses who we are, what we do and what we stand for. We’re proud to be joining many other co-ops such as the Phone Co-op, REScoop and Co-operatives UK that have fully adopted the marque.
The marque is used alongside our identifier, the globe, which symbolises our expansive international network. And we are keeping our red colour, which shows our underlying energetic passion for all things co-operative.
Membership relaunch …
On 1 March we are relaunching our membership, to make it easier for our member-owners to help us sustain our independent co-operative journalism, research and insight.
