Manager at the Co-operative Childcare named Nursery Personality of the Year

Quality excellence manager Babita Saroy was praised for her work on delivering training and improving nursery settings

A Warwick-based early years professional has been named Nursery Personality of the Year at the Nursery Management Today Nursery Awards.

Babita Saroy, quality excellence manager at the Co-operative Childcare, impressed the judges with her drive and passion for improving early years education. This includes recently working on a programme to ensure all pre-school children are school-ready by the time they leave.

She was also praised for her leadership in developing training, with colleagues commenting on how inspired and motivated they are by Babita, and how her work to improve nursery settings has positively impacted the nurseries.

In her role, Ms Saroy is responsible for providing high quality training to early years professionals, ensuring the nurseries have the tools in place so no family is ever turned away. She has been in her current role for three and half years.

Ms Saroy said: “I was surprised but pleased to collect this award. I find my role supporting nurseries very exciting as setting high standards for early years learning is so important in this sector. It’s lovely to know my colleagues find my help valuable and will continue to work to ensure the quality of the childcare we offer is as high as it can be.”

Sally Mayer, chief operating officer at the Co-operative Childcare – part of Midcounties Co-op – said: “Babita has been instrumental in inspiring colleagues to set high standards and is an asset to the team.

“Her work promotes environments that foster children’s wellbeing and nurtures their uniqueness and individuality. This award win is thoroughly well deserved and is reflected in the fantastic work Babita has carried out across the group.”
