Bristol Bike Project offers bicycle check-ups and highlights green credentials

The CIC uses Green Oil, which is free of environmentally damaging PTFE chemicals

The Bristol Bike Project (BBP) is offering free safety checks and tune-ups on bicycles on the city’s streets this summer.

The community interest company, which repairs and rehomes unused bikes, has been given £1,000 from the Big Bike Revival to fund the sessions.

Its team will be offering their help at the following events in Bristol:

BBP has also highlighted its environmental credentials by discussing its use of products by Green Oil, which makes PTFE-free lubricant.

It says: “Green Oil is leading the way in green and sustainable bicycle maintenance products, raising awareness of the harm petrochemicals and PTFE can do in a workshop environment, in your garage, and to the rivers and seas we all enjoy.

“Their products are made in Britain, skin-safe and use the greenest materials from recycled (not just recyclable) plastic in their bottles to plant based fully biodegradable formulas.

“We’re proud to use Green Oil in our community workshop and trading arm – and it’s also available for you to buy in our shop”.
