Co-op Legal Services, a division of the Co-operative Group, has launched a new partnership with Cancer Research UK, aiming to raise over £750,000.
The campaign, ‘A Will 2 Tackle Cancer’, will support the charity’s pioneering work on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer through a range of estate planning packages that will raise funds for Cancer Research UK while providing customers with assurance that their wishes are accounted for.
“We’re incredibly pleased to be able to support the outstanding work being done by Cancer Research UK,” said James Antoniou, head of wills for Co-op Legal Services.
“Wills and lasting powers of attorney are so important for everyone to have in place and we’re hoping that our affordable estate planning packages can help to raise a significant amount in support of the charity.”
As part of the campaign the organisation has pledged to pay 10% of the estate planning package fee (exclusive of VAT) to Cancer Research UK, donate £100 (inclusive of VAT) from each funeral plan purchased and offer customers the opportunity to make a donation to the charity.
“We’re delighted that Co-op has chosen to support Cancer Research UK,” added Sophie Langman, head of corporate partnerships at Cancer Research UK.
“Thanks to their customers, vital funds will be raised to help beat cancer sooner. We receive no government funding for our life-saving research so the money raised by the partnership really will make a huge difference towards bringing forward the day when all cancers are cured.”
