The Co-operative College is encouraging people to share why they love to learn.
Now in its third year, the campaign runs from 14 February to 14 March, with entrants asked to submit personal blogs of 250-650 words explaining why they love to learn. The College will publish a selection of submissions on its website ahead of the deadline of midnight, 14 March.
The winner, chosen by a cross-College judging panel on Wednesday 18 March, will receive a £100 Waterstones voucher.
Last year’s winner wrote about returning to education and gaining a renewed zest for life. Another past winning entry described how learning and a passion for education transformed the life of a five-year-old shy girl who was too scared to put her hand up in class, to someone who 20 years later would happily stand up and present to employees, schools and parents about her job and experience in apprenticeships and education.
Cilla Ross, principal and chief executive of the Co-operative College, said: “We’re delighted to bring back our love to learn competition for a third year in a row and I think we all have a favourite learning memory that we can look back on, such as a favourite teacher who motivated us to achieve or the joy of learning a new skill or hobby by ourselves.
“We can’t wait to receive more inspiring stories about how education has transformed lives and opened up opportunities that many wouldn’t have thought possible at the start of their journey.”
The competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 years or over only. Click here to enter.
