The Co-operative Credit Union is promising “the most fundamental change” in its 20-year history with an online upgrade which will “transform its service for members”.
From this month, members will be able to manage their share account and make withdrawals online. Up until now, they have only been able to request a withdrawal by email or in writing and view their statement via the internet.
Operations manager Andy Davey said: “We know from member surveys that people want a faster and more efficient service from their credit union and we have been working to make that a reality.
“The new online service will mean members making a withdrawal request via their online access area before 3pm will be able to receive funds into their bank account on the same day.
“The new system will also enable members to view their balance and download statements as far back as the last 10 years.
“The board of directors, management and office team would like to thank our members in advance for their patience during the transformation period but we are confident that the upgraded service will ensure the credit union remains relevant and successful in the future.”
During early October, the existing online access will be switched off and members who are currently registered to view their account online will need to re-register their details. There will be full details on the website.
