A two-day conference will bring together academics, teachers, practitioners and students from across Europe to discuss co-operative entrepreneurship.
The event, in Santander, Spain, ends a series of activities carried out through the Co-operative Entrepreneurship Experience (ECOOPE) project.
The conference is also open to future entrepreneurs, local authorities or individuals interested in sustainability.
It will introduce a number of documents and tools that were generated as part of ECOOPE, including a Methodology Tool by LUT Finland and a Good Practice Guide in co-operative entrepreneurial education programmes by PEEP Portugal.
There will also be a presentation from the two pilot training programmes held this year for European secondary and graduate students at Valnalón industrial city and Santander International Entrepreneurship Centre.
The conference will include a panel discussion on good practices in co-operative entrepreneurial education programmes. The speakers are:
- María Ubarretxena, mayor of Arrasate/Mondragón
- Cynthia Lynn Giagnocavo from the International Cooperative Alliance Research Committee
- Laura Ferri from IES Massamagrell
- Elena Badeanschi from Trentino Federation of Cooperation.
In addition, Andrea Dávila of the International Labour Organisation’s Cooperatives Unit will deliver a presentation on how the co-op business model provides stable, competitive, decent work.
Participants will also hear from a good practice expert panel with Adoración Mozas from CIRIEC Spain, Richard Hull from the Goldsmiths College, University of London, and Martin Strauss from Schülergenossenschaften.
The event will also award teachers and academics involved in teaching co-operative entrepreneurship. The European ECOOPE Award of Cooperative Entrepreneurship Education will showcase inspiring practices that integrate the co-operative model in entrepreneurship education for secondary and university level students.
