A campaign film is being put together for Co-op Fortnight, celebrating the diverse range of activity in the UK movement.
Organiser Co-operatives UK has put out a call for video clips from the movement, as part of the two-week drive to inspire members, customers, suppliers, friends and communities to work together to promote co-ops.
After the success of last year’s video, which had more than 100,000 views online, Co-operatives UK has once again teamed up with Blake House Filmmakers Co-operative, who will edit submissions and create the film.
The sector body is also inviting co-ops to carry out an act of co-operation, post it on social media using the #CoopFortnight hashtag and nominate or tag another co-op to do the same. Activities can range from community clean-ups to collecting food bank donations or teaching the public about co-operation.
Wendy Carter, head of communications and marketing at Co-operatives UK, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Blake House Filmmakers Co-operative again on the campaign film for Co-op Fortnight. We love their idea of co-creating the video with contributions from the diverse co-op movement, celebrating the values that bind us.
“You don’t need expensive equipment, as footage can be filmed on a mobile phone following the advice provided by Blake House. We can’t wait to see your footage and to make this film together.”
More information, including filming instructions, are available on Co-operatives UK’s website. The deadline for submissions is 29 March.
This year, Co-op Fortnight runs from 24 June – 7 July.
