A one-day energy conference in Denver, Colorado, on 29 October is open for registrations.
Organised by the Colorado Rural Electric Association (CREA) – the umbrella body for Colorado’s 22 electric co-ops – the annual Energy Innovations Summit launched in 2010 to keep members informed of the latest developments in the industry.
It offers delegates the opportunity to network and share information among many different stakeholder groups.
The summit is open to anyone who is interested in energy issues, and attendees include utility reps, regulators, policymakers, members of the environmental community and electricity co-op directors and staff.
Topics under discussion this year include: forecasting renewable energy; energy efficiency and demand; energy storage technology and the future of the electricity industry.
CREA president Jim Lueck will open the conference with a short welcome address and there will be a session from energy innovators in the state of Colorado.
Key speakers also: Alex Kizer, director of strategic research, Energy Futures Initiative; Dr Jason Quinn, assistant professor, Colorado State University and Steven Collier, director, smart grid strategies, Milsoft Utility Solutions.
The highlights of last year’s conference include discussions on the technology of carbon capture and sequestration, and the use of thorium in nuclear power production, as well as premiere of a video highlighting the innovative and groundbreaking projects developed by Colorado’s electric co-ops as part of their mission to integrate local renewable power resources.
