The USA’s Credit Union National Association will continue to back the Cooperative Trust developed by the Filene Research Institute.
The trust is a community for young credit union professionals which recently enhanced its online community by launching a new logo and website. With funding from CUNA, the Cooperative Trust will pilot a new mentorship programme connecting experienced credit union leaders with young professionals.
CUNA president and chief executive, Jim Nussle, said: “CUNA is proud to continue to sponsor the Cooperative Trust and its programmes that empower the next generation of credit union leaders.
“The entire credit union industry benefits from young leaders’ enthusiasm and fresh outlooks. CUNA’s support helps ensure those with the passion and drive to grow in the industry receive trainings and resources that will help them shape the future of the movement.”
Lauren Culp, manager of the Cooperative Trust, added: “Our new mentorship programme is just one example of how the Cooperative Trust is expanding its operations to include more ways young people can thrive in the credit union industry. Countless young professionals have expressed difficulty in establishing a professional relationship with a mentor, so we’ve been hard at work to bridge this gap in an exciting and collaborative way.”
A think tank, Filene also runs a series of crash course events which provide expert development tools for young credit union professionals as well as a platform to engage with industry leaders.
