A group of Spanish healthcare co-ops have developed a number of digital tools to help users more easily manage their health.
The Espriu Foundation, which is made up of four healthcare co-ops, has delivered the initiative to help reduce administrative burdens on service users, such as saving time on making appointments and to help increase patient participation.
A patient portal has been established, which helps to manage appointments and obtain medical history without visiting a surgery.
Additionally, doctors can keep in touch with patients through a blog area – also people are encouraged to take part in an area to share and exchange ideas on service improvement.
Carlos Zarco, director of the Espriu Foundation, said this will improve “safety and quality in patient care”, plus for the individual co-ops it “will increase the connection” with members.
