Heart of England Co-op hands out Christmas hampers to local pensioners

The society’s Pamper with a Hamper campaign distributes goodies to 200 nominees in its trading area

The Heart of England Co-operative has launched this year’s festive Pamper with a Hamper campaign, helping to spread early festive cheer among over-65s within its trading area.

This is the 14th consecutive year the society has organised the Christmas giveaway, in partnership with the Coventry Telegraph newspaper and delivery company TNT.

As part of the campaign Coventry Telegraph readers are invited to nominate a relative, friend, neighbour or anyone over the age of 65 they feel is deserving of a hamper packed with society goodies.

Between now and Christmas the society will distribute the hampers – packed with assorted treats such as Fairtrade wines, Christmas puddings, biscuits, orange juices and other goodies – to 200 lucky recipients in Coventry, Warwickshire, south Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.

Jo Dyke, community and membership adviser at the society, said: “Our Pamper with a Hamper campaign is exceedingly popular in our area.

“The hampers always help bring a smile to people’s faces and we are delighted to help members of our community spread some early festive cheer among their nearest and dearest.”
