The Co-op Group has changed its look at five Manchester stores to include a good luck hashtag for colleague and World Para Athletics Championship competitor, Carly Tait.
In a fascia first for the customer-owned retailer, it has added “#goodluckcarly” to the front of its stores in Carly’s home town.
The Manchester-based wheelchair athlete was inspired to start training after finding the London 2012 closing ceremony a life-changing experience.
With support from the Group – team supporter of the British Athletics Para team and national partner of the London 2017 World Para Athletics Championships – Carly, who has cerebral palsy, achieved her dream of making it to Rio for the Paralympic games and, has also been selected for this month’s championships in London.

Carly Tait, a double T34 European silver medalist, said: “Successes on the track or in the field are in no small part down to the continued and unprecedented levels of support of the Great British public.
“Training and exercise has certainly turned my life around and given me some amazing opportunities. I would like to thank everyone for the help and encouragement that they have shown to me, support which I will endeavor to repay on, and off, the track – showing others the possibilities that exist within disability sport.”
The World Para Athletics Championship runs until 23 July, and fans can wish Carly well with #goodluckcarly
