Following the global launch of the International Year of Cooperatives (IYC2025) in New Delhi, India, on 25 November, a dedicated IYC website has been launched.
2025.coop brings together information, updates and assets to enable people, co-operatives and communities to celebrate the Cooperative Year and achieve its stated objectives of raising public awareness, promoting growth and development, advocating for supportive frameworks and inspiring leadership.
The website includes the form and guidelines to apply for use of the logo, links to the official UN resolution on the announcement of the IYC, and guidelines for creating national committees or other structures to achieve and report on objectives set for the year.
To help promote and communicate the IYC2025, an official logo was unveiled, which features a vibrant, interconnected design of people from diverse communities uniting to create positive change. The three key colours – red, blue, and green – are inspired by the SDG visual identity, representing co-operatives’ contributions to social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
Organisations interested in using the IYC2025 logo must adhere to specific guidelines provided by the UN Committee for the Promotion and Advancement of Cooperatives (Copac) and the United Nations. A request for use can be submitted through the official online application form found on 2025.coop.
Working with DotCooperation, the website also features an IYC event map, which will be populated to show IYC-related activities taking place around the world. Co-operatives and associated organisations are encouraged to submit their events to be added to the map, which will demonstrate the truly global nature of co-operation.
“We call on co-operators worldwide to share their pride for what co-operatives are doing to build a better world, and to take advantage of the International Year of Cooperatives,” said ICA director general Jeroen Douglas.
