Radstock Co-operative Society has launched a specialist mobility shop at its Somerset site, promising it a different feel from other retailers in the mobility field.
The Unlimited Company – from the co-op healthcare business group Simplyhealth – opened last month. Managers say it has a modern, sleek environment more akin to a technology store.
The specialist store offers a vast range of home and mobility items and advice for people with a disability or reduced mobility.
Somerset residents can now browse mobility scooters, electric wheelchairs, comfortable footwear and riser recliner chairs. The shop stocks everything from items for the kitchen and garden to sensory products.
Don Morris, chief executive of Radstock, said: “As part of the society’s commitment to meeting the needs of our members, customers and local people, The Unlimited Company was chosen to open a store because they provide useful, unique products and knowledgeable advice to people of all ages with a disability or reduced mobility.”
The Unlimited Company sponsored the Bristol Post Awards in the past two years in the Voluntary and Community Sector and Disability Sports categories.
Previously known as Independent Living, it is now part of the Simplyhealth Group and offers a wide range of premium daily living aids and mobility products.
Simplyhealth is a group of businesses that specialise in healthcare products and services. The principles of co-operative mutuality have shaped Simplyhealth’s business decisions for over 130 years.
