Rochdale Pioneers Museum is reopening its doors to visitors from Saturday, 29 August.
Owned by the Co-operative Heritage Trust, the museum is situated in the historical conservation area of Toad Lane. The building – where the Rochdale Equitable Pioneers Society started trading on 21 December 1844 – features a recreation of the original shop and an extension with additional rooms.
The museum will extend its opening hours in September , opening Wed-Fri, 11:00 -15:00. Anyone wishing to visit must book a free timed ticket for each person online. Booking can be made two weeks in advance. Visitors will need to wear a mask when they visit and provide details for contact tracing.

The museum has been awarded the Visit England ‘good to go’ mark to show we have followed government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, ensuring processes are in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social/physical distancing.
