Scotmid Co-op has been inviting applications from groups and charities wishing to become its charity of the year for 2019/2020.
The co-op is currently at a half-way point with its current charity partner, the Scottish SPCA, and has already raised over £140,000. The charity will use the funding to teach 170,000 children in Scotland about animal welfare through its education programme.
Over the last three years Scotmid has fundraised for Samaritans, Childline and Alzheimer Scotland.
Chief executive John Brodie said: “Over the past three years, we’ve managed to raise over £1m for our charity of the year partners, so we invited charities to apply to become our next partner.”
The partnership will see Scotmid organise fundraising activities with staff and members. The charity partner is also invited to store manager meetings and annual conferences, and help produce a partnership booklet which will be sent to stores to support fundraising activity.
