The doors reopened at the Scotmid store in Inverkeithing on Wednesday (16 October) morning, with a modern new layout and energy-efficient installations.
The society’s head of food Kevin Plant says the local community will also enjoy an expanded range of products.
After suffering substantial damage following heavy rainfall in August, the store was temporarily closed and it subsequently underwent a complete transformation.
Mr Plant said: “We’d like to thank all our members and customers in Inverkeithing for their patience while this transformation was taking place and we believe it will be well worth the wait because there is now a new state-of-the-art store for the local community.
“We’ve expanded all of our ranges in-store by 40% and we believe our members and customers will be really impressed with the new look and improved offering available.”
He added: “We’ve utilised the latest energy efficient technologies with refrigeration and lighting pinpointed as key priorities and the new spacious lay-out will provide an enhanced shopping experience for customers.
“Our Food to Go offering has also expanded with the introduction of a Chicken Wing & Rib Bar with the option to add in further new takeaway lines depending on our customers’ needs.
“We’re absolutely certain the Inverkeithing community will love their new Scotmid store; we’re delighted to be able to open the doors to our new ultra-modern store.”
