The night included wins for insurers NFU and LV=, healthcare provider Benenden, John Lewis, Nationwide and Coventry Building Society

The Moneywise Customer Service Awards 2017 saw awards and commendations to several mutual players in the insurance, banking and healthcare sectors.

Friendly society LV= was named most trusted insurer and also scooped most trusted life insurance provider – a category which also saw Royal London highly commended.

Around 50,000 members of the public voted for the awards, making it the biggest poll of financial services customers of its kind in the country.

Moneywise magazine says voters were asked which companies they used for various financial services and asked to rate them on criteria such as customer service, value for money and trustworthiness.

LV= was named most trusted insurer

York-based mutual Benenden also had a successful night at the London ceremony, where it was named most trusted health insurance provider via your employer.

Benenden, which provides discretionary personal healthcare services for more than 800,000 members across the UK, also picked up a highly commended certificate for the general health insurance provider category.

Coventry Building Society was named best provider of savings accounts for large deposits, and most trusted buy-to-let mortgage provider.

It was commended in best provider for regular savers, and in most trusted savings and cash ISA provider.

Worker-owned John Lewis won best credit card provider for rewards and was highly commended in most trusted pet insurance provider and most trusted credit card provider.
