Co-op Financial Services – payments and technology partner to the US credit union movement – has donated $10,000 to the American Red Cross for disaster relief after floods brought devasation to the Midwest.
“Overwhelmed levees, water quality concerns and more recent rains are contributing to the need for aid,” said Todd Clark, president/CEO for the organisation.
“Our donation is tied to the foundation of the credit union movement – people helping people. We have also been contacting clients and co-op employees in the Midwest to assess needs and determine where we can additionally help. The safety of credit union employees, their members and our own employees is our paramount concern.”
Co-op Financial Services has more than 200 credit union clients in the worst-hit states of Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska and Wisconsin.
The organisation manages two industry networks that can service credit unions members throughout the USA whenever they are away from home – and can play a critical role in times of natural disaster. The Shared Branch network includes 5,700 credit union branches nationwide, enabling members to enter any branch and conduct business as if they were at home.
