Credit unions from around the world can submit nominations for the World Council of Credit Union’s Young Credit Union Professionals (WYCUP) scholarship programme.
Up to five recipients will be awarded scholarships for an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2019 World Credit Union Conference, held in Singapore from 15-18 July.
New this year’s programme is the Diversity and Inclusion conference track, which will be dedicated to promoting professional development for young leaders.
“WYCUP connects, equips and empowers young credit union leaders so they continue to grow our global movement for years to come,” said Paul Treinen, World Council COO.
“We are excited to be able to offer educational sessions designed specifically for our WYCUP participants which promote professional development throughout the week as part of our annual conference this year in Singapore.”
The scholarship is open to credit union practitioners aged 35 and under as of January 2018. They must be actively involved as either an employee or a volunteer with a credit union or other financial co-operative member of WOCCU.
They also need to be sponsored by their organisation to attend the 2018 World Credit Union Conference and not have received a WYCUP scholarship in the past. Completed nomination forms and supporting materials must be submitted by 31 May.
Conference delegates under the age of 35 qualify for a discounted registration fee and can take part in all sessions, regardless of whether they apply for the scholarship or not. More information on the scholarship is available on WOCCU’s website.
